Managed a room of 20+ rowdy sketch comedy writers. Picked the best of their ideas, worked with our field production team and live crew to make them come alive. Ran meetings twice weekly to pitch ideas, read through scripts and write monologue jokes. Collaborated with producers to cast, block and orangize show lineups. Didn't pull my hair out.
Produced bi-weekly stand-up comedy shows made up of student comics and professional comedians (Grace Reiter, Tommy Armstrong, Trevor Wallace). First year, the venue operated out of a basement, averaging an audience of 60 people. The second year, we operated out of a local bar and averaged 120 individuals (except the one time we had to put the show in my garage, but even then 100 people showed up! Guerilla stand-up comedy) Oh - and check us out on Instagram, its pretty cool. No seriously, I linked it here. Check it out. I mean it. Look, its ever underlined. You have no excuse.
My resume's crown jewel. Yes, it was awesome. Yes, I did a bunch of lunch and coffee runs. Yes, I can carry 6 coffees with one hand. Yes, during the 50th Special. Yes, the one that won an Emmy. No, that does not mean I have an Emmy. Sure, if you want to call me an "Emmy-award-winning intern," I won't complain. They also entrusted me with being one of two masterbook interns. Basically, I was given half the script during dress rehearsals and the live taping, and as writers made changes, I would collate the new pages into the scripts and redistribute them to any staff that needed them. Oh, also, yes, Sarah Sherman's outfits are even cooler in person.
